The Project is funded by the European Union, managed by the European Agency for Reconstruction , and implemented by Euro Health Group from Denmark, with full support of the Government of Serbia and relevant professional institutions and organizations. Primary aim of the Project is introducing Electronic Health Record in the health system of Serbia.
 

Electronic Health Record is a set of standardized information, in electronic form, on the health and treatment of each individual patient from “cradle to grave”, supplied by health providers throughout the health system, and other data sources such as public administration institutions, and others, providing health related demographic data. Conference „Electronic Health Record in Serbia – opportunities for the future» was held on April 17. 2008. in Sava Centar in Belgrade.

The conference was well attended by 350 participants.

The Introduction was held by Prof. Dr Nevena Karanović, State Secretary of Republic of Serbia - Ministry of Health, who highlighted the importance of medical informatics and its implementation in the Republic of Serbia Health System.

The other top ministerial participant of the conference was Prof. Zorica Pavlović, Assistant Minister of Health, who concluded that the EHR is one of the highest priorities for the health sector in Serbia, because of its integrative character between all the E-health solutions.

German Professor Rolf Engelbrecht, Head of Dept. MEDIS (Medical Information Systems) at the German Research Centre for Environmental Health Munich and vice-president of the European Institute for Health Records  important European experts for medicine informatics were amongst the speakers on this conference and presented European trends in EHR development.
